It's great to be home!

So the big news story around our house is that Jonathan finally went poop. I know, not exactly what most people want to hear, but when your child hasn't been able to and he finally does... I think it is cause for celebration! I will save you the gory details, but when he was finished he let out this huge sigh of relief and said "Mommy, it sure is great to be home!" He is such a funny child! The bad part about being at home is when he makes a huge mess in his bed, I can't hit that little call button and have the nurse clean it up! At home, I am the nurse!! Unfortunately, I'm an ill prepared nurse!... you see, he can't wear diapers because of the location of his incision & they didn't send me home with a bedpan, so I am just making do with gloves, wet ones and those plastic bed pads! Fun, Fun!

His incision is looking good... well, as good as an incision can look. He is started to move around more and more in his little bed. This morning I heard him talking/singing/groaning in pain, so I walked into the living room (where I have his make-shift hospital room set up) and I found him sitting up in his bed! I said "what in the world are you doing?" To which he replied "Well, you see, I was thinking I was going over there (pointing to his Buzz Lightyear Chair)." I am so happy that he is able to move around more, but the problem is that he should be flat on his back until the DR clears him to move around. I can't imagine how bad it would hurt if he fell down, not to mention he could do permanent damage to his fragile spine! So I think from here on out it is going to be difficult to keep him still! Maybe I should invest in industrial strength Velcro! LOL!

Because things were so crazy before his surgery, I did not post pics from Easter, so I thought I would do that today! So here a few from Easter Sunday and a couple from the Easter Egg Hunt I hosted at my In-Laws Ranch.
My favorite tree in our yard with my 3 favorite kidos.

Up on the Mountain at the In-Laws ranch after our Easter Egg Hunt. The kids loved the wild Gator ride! I think there were 12 kids on that one gator!

So glad Jon is home and doing well. The Easter pictures are adorable, I love the mohawk! :) I think the poop is cause for celebration as well! Can you buy a bed pan?

Kim, The only bed pan I saw at the pharmacy was waaaay too big for Jonathan's pea sized butt. I am hopful that the Dr will give us the all clear for him to sit on the potty later this week. If he doesn't ~ I may go on strike! LOL!
