Last night (Monday) we had our Bunco Christmas Party at my friend Beth's house. I think there were a total of 14 ladies there. Beth had a beautiful and delicious spread of food for us. Our ornament exchange was as wild and crazy as usual! It is so funny to sit back and watch as people want to steal gifts from one another... oh and you better be ready for years of torture if you dare to steal someones ornament! For example, there was this cute little bird nest ornament a few years ago - one lady took it from another and they are still going at it over that ornament! What a hoot!
One of the best part of this years ornament exchange was Muffy's gag gift! She had won this strange "yard art" set at the Habitat for Humanity Bunco night. She decided that it would be the perfect gag gift for our ornament exchange! So last night she had the yard art in a lovely bag. When it was Liz's turn to pick a gift she went right for it! She picked it up, but then sat it back down and looked at other gifts... then her hand touched Muffy's gift once more and I yelled "that's mine!" - which was a HUGE mistake because poor Liz believed me. I knew she was going to kill me when she opened that bag! Sure enough she was a little upset with me, but the look on her face was priceless! So after the ornament exchange we were sitting around talking and someone came up with the idea of us putting the Yard Art in Muffy's yard before. Muffy had picked up several ladies last night (including Liz), so I knew it would take her a while to get home. I took the Yard Art and carefully placed them in her yard. I tried to take a picture of them with my cell phone, but it wouldn't take because it was dark outside.
I have a feeling that once Muffy finds out who did it - the Yard Art will end up in my yard. Too Funny!
I ended up with a beautiful red glass ornament. I LOVE it! As I hang my Bunco Ornaments on my Christmas tree each year I recall all the fun I have with my Bunco girlfriends and I thank God for each one of them! We have a blast together!
