pics and a little more...

Today we celebrated Christmas with Josh's Dad (Pa Joe), Step Mom (RoRo), his sister, Emily and her husband, Todd. Thank God I didn't have to cook - we ordered pizzas!

Pa Joe and RoRo gave the kids Guitar Hero for Christmas! I love Jackson's expression in one of the pictures as he opens the box and realizes what it is! Kolia seems to be a natural on the drums and Jack plays a mean guitar so they make a great match! They kept giving each other high-fives! Valya and Alexis were singing. Jonathan just whined the majority of the time because he wanted to be in the band too! Sergey stayed upstairs most of the time until the guest left, then he was all into the rock band!

And I am HAPPY to report that Pa Joe and RoRo read my request on the blog for Santa to bring me a new camera... that post was meant for Josh to read, but they took note and got me a NEW CAMERA!!!!! WHOOO HOOOO!!!!

Everything seems to be going well with the kids. Valya has had several crying spells and when I ask her brothers what is wrong they say she is sad because she is going to have to leave her new mama soon. And she often thinks that this is it... it is time to go back to the orphanage so she starts crying! I told her tonight to stop worrying about what day she is going back and just have fun! It is going to be VERY painful to send them back, but we knew this when we signed up to host. I am not worried about me and Josh - I am worried about the kids! Especially Valya... she needs a mama so much. She is dying for that connection.

Hey this story is for my friend Karen:
Yesterday I was in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. Valya came into the kitchen, said something in Russian with a big smile on her face then she proceeded to give me the middle finger! That's right, my sweet little Russian Princess flipped me off! I took her to the computer and used our translation website to explain that this is a very bad gesture in America! She should not do this! She smiled and promised not to do it again. Alexis later told me that she had done this to her as well. Let's hope and pray she doesn't do it at church tomorrow! :)
I knew that Karen would get a kick out of this because she just went through it with her son!

Chowing down on pizza and bread sticks!

Unwrapping the Guitar Hero for the Wii!

Kolia playing the drums!

I had no idea that Jackson was behind us! Too Funny!

You got the bird too? Maybe we should form the "One Single Salute Club"—lol. It was heard to read that Valya was already crying over losing her new mommy and family. It does break your heart; they seemed so attached to you already.

I love the matching shirts and beautiful dresses. You make a very good-looking family. Enjoy.

I've loved reading about how everything is going with the kids!

They certainly are beautiful kids and you all look great together!

Lots of changes for them, I know they must be very happy to be with such a loving and understanding family. They are no doubt having the time of their life!

Can't wait to read more! So glad you got a new camera, now we get to see all kinds of photos!

I know you're having so much fun that you don't have time to post. Here's hoping you and the kids are having the time of your lives.
