The dreeded stomach bug!

Last night I was cleaning the kitchen after making Jackson's Birthday dinner, when I started to feel weird. Pretty soon, I was sick! I went to bed, then around midnight Jackson came into our bedroom and woke me up. He said he didn't feel, so good. His tummy and head hurt... oh boy, here we go! I had him lay on the couch and gave him all the usual comforts - cool washcloth, favorite stuffed animal, a cup of green tea, a trash can - just in case, etc... Once he was comfortable I went back to bed. At 3:30am he woke me up again - this time he had vomited ALL over my living room - Poor Baby. So I made him a place to lay in the sun room while I cleaned the living room. What a nasty little bug this is!

Tonight he was feeling well enough to ride in the van to a local church that does a Drive through Bethlehem! Because we would not have to get out of the car for this event and we would not expose anyone else to our little bug, I thought it would be OK. It did cheer him up! This event has become one of our family traditions, so I am thankful that he felt well enough to go. The kids look forward to it every year - so I would hate for them to miss it. This year the kids favorite part was the live camels at the nativity. My favorite part is at each scene they have a sign with the coordinating Bible verse, so we stop the car and read each verse. With the actors acting out each scene it helps the kids understand what it might have been like to really be there! I love sharing that with the kids.
