2nd Anniversary

2 Years ago today we brought Jonathan home to the US! I had never been so homesick in my life! I was missing Alexis and Jackson so bad it hurt! All I wanted to do was get our baby boy home! As our plane circled Atlanta waiting to land I could not control my emotions! It had taken 2+ long years to get Jonathan and now we were so close to having all of the members of our family together - land it already!!! Once the plane touched the ground I wanted to push everyone out of my way - nothing was going to stand between me and my "babies" that I had not seen in 7 weeks! Little did I know... Immigration and Customs would be yet another hurdle for us! Mama Bear or no mama bear... we had to wait and wait and wait! Then Josh realized that we did not get Jon's stroller, so he did the big no-no and he crossed the line to go back in search of the stroller! He was held up for a little while, but they let him come back to me and Jon - I think we looked very desperate at that point! I then walked up to the Immigration officer and explained that I had not seen my other kids in 7 weeks and I needed to go asap or I was going cry like a baby... I think he took pity on me and we were out of there! As we made our way to baggage claim I just wanted to run - I needed my kidos! As we walked onto the escalator we knew that Alexis, Jack and our family were at the top... that was the best feeling. I heard the kids scream "Mommy, Daddy" and the rest is a blur! I am crying as I recall this! You just can not imagine all that we went through to bring Jon home! Our adoption agency's facilitator went bankrupt 2 weeks before we left for Kaz, loosing thousands of $$ in the process, being lied to... I could go on and on, but through prayer and faith we made it!

Here is the link to the video Josh's Step Mom, Rhonda made from that special day.

Two years—congratulations. Because I had the opportunity to meet Jonathan in person I can attest to the fact that this child is thriving. You and Josh have made such a big difference in this little boy's life. Keep up the great work—and here's to many, many more anniversaries!!!!
