Special Reunion

Jonathan, Charlie and Garrett were all in the same group at Baby House #1 in Uralsk, Kazakhstan. Charlie's parents, Anita and John, were already bonding with him when we arrived in Uralsk 2 years ago, so we were able to meet them. But at that time they were living in FL and we did not have any contact with them other than saying "hi" in the hallway of the orphanage.
Garrett has only been home for 6 months, but I had "met" his mom, Karen via the Internet. She and I talked on the phone before she traveled to Kaz - not knowing that she would end up adopting one of Jonathan's friends!
So a few months ago I received an email from Karen saying that Anita had ran across her blog and noticed that they had adopted one of her son's best friends at the orphanage! Anita mentioned that they are now living in GA and asked if Karen would like to get the boys together. Karen knew that we live in GA and Jon was from that same group, so she mentioned it to Anita and they decided to include us in the reunion! Of course we were on board! Isn't it funny how God puts people together?!?!
So on Sunday October 19th we traveled to Marietta GA (about and 1.5 - 2 hour drive for us) to Anita, John and Charlie's home. Karen and Garrett (Karen's husband could not make the trip) flew in from MN.
I am not sure if Jonathan remembered Charlie and Garrett, but he sure did have fun! He ran around playing and fighting over toys. Then the boys settled down to watch a movie and eat their wight in popcorn!
It is amazing how much the boys have grown! They are all such busy little boys - running around, talking, playing and the occasional fight over a toy. Charlie and Garrett are as cute as ever! Garrett was in the orphanage the longest, and he had been moved up to the pre-school orphanage into a Kazakh group - which means he had to learn a new language (the BH group spoke Russian). Then when he was adopted he had to learn English, so that is 3 languages in his short life. But I am happy to report that he is doing so well! It is amazing how each of the boys ended up exactly where they are suppose to be! And I am excited to say that Anita and John are going back to Kaz for another child!
Here are a few pictures from that special day:

it is amazing how God brings people together.
I have had faith for a long time now-but after adopting Leeza-my faith is at record heights-it's so incredible how much adoption is "god sent" and how people find the right children and how parents find each other.

and then i met your mother in law-so cool!
and I am a really good blog stalker-so you will always hear from me.

can't wait to meet you guys next time you are florida bound!

Yes, it was a very special reunion indeed. To have all three boys in the same room was incredible. The only one missing was their dear buddy Israel. I pray some day that we'll find him too in Uralsk. What a reunion that would be, huh?

To Susan's comment, she is a GREAT blog stalker, so you' will be hearing from her often. :-)
