Dare to do GREAT things...

We are hosting a sibling set of 3 for 4 weeks this Dec/Jan.

We have been told that they are smart, great kids that truly love each other. The middle child, Kolya (yellow shirt) was being interviewed for the hosting program without his siblings (Le Ann was not told that he had sibs), but he said that he would not go without his siblings, so Le Ann asked him to go get his sibs! Sergey (orange shirt) is the oldest & Valya, the pretty little girl is the youngest. Le Ann was extremely impressed by these kids. The boys love soccer and I have been told that Valya is a girly girl & full of grace. We are so excited to have them in our home! PLEASE make sure that NOBODY mentions the word ADOPION around the kids while they are with our family! This hosting program is not an adoption agency. Some of the kids MAY be avaible for adoption, but we do not want to get a child's hopes up - only to disappoint them. Can you imagine the dissapointment? Our goals as a family is to to introdcue the kids to Christianity, show these kids the love they so desparalty need, to show them how a family works, and to teach them English.

This means that we will need to raise more money!
Please, any donation that you can make will help! If you feel lead to donate toward their travel expenses, please mail a check to New Horizons for Children (Make the check out to New Horizons, but please include a note saying "please apply this $ toward the Trawick family host children" Then New Horizons will mail you a receipt for your tax deductible donation). I also have a website were you can make your donation, but they charge us a small fee for handling the transaction. Remember both of these options are tax deductible donations! Another way to help is to mail a check directly to us to help cover other expenses (clothes, shoes, back packs, activities, SMALL Christmas gifts) Or if you would rather send gift cards for the kids to pick out clothes - that would be fine too. The Trawick family will be practicing KISS (Keep It Simple Santa!) this Christmas! These kids do not need to view America as a place to come and get spoiled - we want to focus on the real meaning of Christmas! So we are not planinng on showering them with expensive gifts, just showing them what it is like to be in a family and to be LOVED!
Did I mention that 2 of our host kids will celebrate birthday's during their visits? Let me also mention that ALL 3 of the Trawick kids birthdays are in December! SO... that is 5 birthdays in 4 weeks! Just for the record... I did not know that these kids would have birthdays similar to our own kids... not that it would have changed my mind, but it is funny how things work out. I guess we should also have a little party for Valya (Her birthday in July) seeing how she has never had a party just for her and I love birthday parties. So that makes 6 birthday parties in 4 weeks! Basically, there will be an ongoing party that the Trawick's house - so y'all come on over!

While the kids might be available for adoption - that is not the goal of the hosting program, so we are NOT allowed to mention ADOPTION to the kids or around the kids.
Many of the host kids DO end up being adopted either by their host family or by a family that meets them while they are here in the US.

6 kids? Oh my goodness! I am one of 5 kids. My mom is one of 5 kids and my dad is one of 13! So I guess I would be keeping up with family tradition - oh my!!!

December will be completely crazy, but oh so fun! I wish you could be here - maybe we will take a quick trip down to Tampa for a few days if so we will get together!
