25 days until our host kids arrive and 6 days until we have 24 people in our home for Thanksgiving.... and I decided to reorganize the entire house! I think I am nesting with a splash of A.D.D.! Or maybe it's A.D.D. with a splash of nesting??? Either way, it was an insane idea! I now have the entire contents of my Kitchen on the counters and dinning room table, I had to rearrange the kids bedrooms to accommodate 3 more children, I am repainting the closet doors and you don't even want to know what I did in the garage!
I have planned for Jack and Alexis to have a review day today. I printed off review sheets in all the subjects, so maybe I will not have to sit there all day with the 2 of them. Don't get me wrong, I love helping them learn, but good grief - I have to finish the projects that I have started! So today I plan on doing a weeks worth of work in one day. Where is my Wonder Woman Costume when I need it?
I have to share these funny stories:
Yesterday - I took the closet doors from the kids bedroom outside to paint them. I took the doors into the backyard so that I could watch the kids playing on the playground. For some reason we have these little gnats in our backyard and they kept landing in my pretty white paint, so I took the doors, paint and Jonathan to the front yard. I set everything up again and started painting - the wind started blowing harder then the trees in the front yard started shedding these little seeds and leaves! So now the closet doors are textured with little seeds, a few leaves and gnats! Would that be considered Shabby Chic?
Oh, and while I was busy painting and yelling at the trees... Jonathan was sitting on the front porch with his little plastic tool set. Alexis, Jackson and several of the neighborhood kids came running around the house. Alexis was screaming (as she always does when she is playing!), the boys were chasing her... Jonathan Jumped up and stumbled towards the crew of kids with his little plastic hammer (using it like a sword) and he yelled "Let go of my Princess!" I thought that was so cute!
